  • 1 teaspoon cumin seeds
  • 1 teaspoon coriander powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon red chili powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon garam masala
  • Salt to taste
  • Cooking oil
  • Fresh coriander leaves for garnish

Instructions:

  1. Heat oil in a pan and add cumin seeds and black cardamom pods. Saute for a few seconds until fragrant.
  2. Add chopped onions and sauté until they turn golden brown.
  3. Add ginger-garlic paste and cook for a couple of minutes until the raw smell disappears.
  4. Add pureed tomatoes and cook until the oil separates from the masala.
  5. Add coriander powder, turmeric powder, red chili powder, and salt. Mix well.
  6. Add chicken pieces to the masala and mix until they are coated evenly.
  7. Cover the pan and cook the chicken on medium heat until it is tender and cooked through, stirring occasionally.
  8. Once the chicken is cooked, sprinkle garam masala and garnish with fresh coriander leaves.
  9. Serve hot with rice or roti.
